I’m a bit of a science geek. That’s why I love speaking with the researchers, physicians, and other experts who inform my writing. My favorite subjects to cover are health and fitness—I’ve written for publications including The New York Times and Health, SELF, and Shape magazines. In 2011 I published my first book, Better Each Day: 365 Expert Tips for a Healthier, Happier You, and also left my staff gig at Prevention magazine, where I was the Fitness Editor. Now I’m a full-time freelance writer and fitness instructor living in Portland, OR, although I do occasional TV appearances too. (I’ve had a lot of fun appearing on shows like The Today Show and Access Hollywood Live.) I started this blog to share all of the findings I can’t fit into my articles, and to chronicle my path to a happier and healthier life, one day at a time.
